V300 Data Recorder
PR-V300DR
One of the most popular recorders in the new V series is this V300 model. Due to its range of capabilities, and its generous supply of memory, it is suitable for almost any application. Dollar for dollar it is one of the best bargains on the data acquisition market. The V300 has gained widespread popularity among all sportsmen classes of drag racing, and with oval and road race teams that desire an affordable test platform. The V300 is loaded with features. It can record up to 40 channels of information. Of these, 32 will be acquired over the V-Net, 4 will be hardwired analog, and 4 will be hardwired digital. Sampling rates are user programmable up to 100 per second, with the exception of the hardwired analog channels, which can sample up to 1000 times per second. Timing intervals are within 1/1000th of a second. Memory capacity for the V300 is fixed at a full megabyte. This is far greater than the amount required by most drag racers, and is sufficient to handle many oval track and road race applications. There are three sensors housed within the small 1.215” x 3.150” x 3.935” case. These internal sensors include an accelerometer, a lateral G-meter***, and battery voltage. The entire V300 package weighs only 10 ounces. As with other V series recorders the V300 can access both digital and analog signals through it’s V-Net port, while the other two ports are reserved for either digital or analog input individually. Downloading information from the V300 can be accomplished via two different methods. The standard method is by serial cable link to a PC or laptop. An optional method is by data cartridge transfer. The data cartridge download is not available for laptops (see software section for more details on data cartridge download). All V300’s come equipped with the Racepak DataLink Lite data analysis software. This software allows you to view your recorded data on PC or laptop in a graph and numeric format. The combination of the V300 and the DataLink also permits you to display up to ten monitored functions on your computer screen for real time viewing. Additional real time display can be accomplished by integrating Intelli-Gauges into your V-Net system. All V300 data recorders come equipped with a digital port wiring harness (engine RPM sensor), a driveshaft RPM sensor with split collar & magnet kit, a V-Net Tee connector with cable , DataLink Lite software with serial cable, and an instruction manual. V300 Data Recorder (with DataLink Lite software and serial cable) 200-KT-V300 V300 Data Recorder (with DataLink Lite software and data cartridge) 200-KT-V300-DCL V300 Data Recorder (with DataLink Standard software and data cartridge) 200-KT-V300-1DC All additional sensors and modules, as well as software or download upgrades, must be purchased separately. V500 Data Recorder
PR-V500DR
For those who thrive on information we have the V500 data recorder. This recorder shares all the same capabilities as it’s smaller siblings in the V series, but it tops the charts when it comes to the number of channels it can support, and the amount of memory it houses. Additionally, the V500 contains another option not found in the other V series recorders, such as the ability to monitor ignition timing. For those reasons the V500 is popular in applications such as Pro Stock drag racing, oval and road racing, and all forms of endurance racing. The V500 is capable of monitoring up to 48 channels of information. Of these, 32 will be acquired over the V-Net, 8 will be input through the hardwire digital ports, and 8 will be hardwired analog. There are also three sensors that are internally mounted within the V500, an accelerometer, a lateral G-meter***, and battery voltage. Sampling rates are user programmable up to 100 times per second on the V-net, and up to 1000 times per second on the hard wired analog ports. Sample rates on the digital ports are 100/second for RPM and switch contacts, and timing intervals are within 1/1000th of a second. The V500 data recorder is equipped with two megabytes of memory. It can be ordered with an optional upgrade to four megabytes. In spite of its mass of capabilities the V500 is still compact and light. The anodized aluminum case measures just 1.215” x 5.350” x 5.550” and weighs only 17 ounces. Displaying the information gathered by the V500 can be done in a variety of methods. Primary to these is viewing the recorded data on the screen of a PC or laptop. Uploading the data to a recorder is accomplished using either the serial cable or the optional data cartridge (see software section for complete details). A secondary method of viewing monitored information is via real time display on your computer screen. Unique to V Series recorders is the ability to view up to ten monitored functions as they occur. The screen for real time viewing resembles a dynamometer-style gauge and graph display. Recorded data is displayed on the popular Racepak graph and numeric screen. A final option for viewing monitored data is by equipping your V-Net system with Intelli-Gauges. These gauges will provide real time display, plus they can be used to recall and playback recorded data. All V500 recorders come with the DataLink Lite software and serial cable. Optional upgrades are available. V500 Data Recorder, DataLink Lite, Serial Cable Download, 2 MB 200-KT-V500 V500 Data Recorder, DataLink Lite, Serial Cable Download, 4 MB 200-KT-V500-4MB V500 Data Recorder, DataLink Standard, Data Cartridge Download, 2MB 200-KT-V500-2DC V500 Data Recorder, DataLink Standard, Data Cartridge Download, 4 MB 200-KT-V500-4DC All V500 recorders include a wiring harness for the digital port (engine RPM), a driveshaft RPM sensor with split collar & magnet kit, a V-Net Tee connector and cable, and the DataLink Lite download software with a serial cable.
