Peter Biondo was on top this past weekend at the Silver Dollar Raceway! Driving Arnie Martels F/AA GTO, qualifying in the #1 spot running -.72 under @ 168.32 ET with a 316 ci SB-2 Patterson Power Plant! Peter held off the competition defeating Michael Hardee in the final!

After qualifying in the #5 spot @ the Torco Racing Fuels Nationals in Virginia, Arnie Martel stomps the Comp field with his 316 ci SB-2 Patterson Power Plant. Running an awesome 7.68 ET in the final round making this his 10th carrier win, his 4th of the season. Congratulations to Arnie and his crew for back to back wins.


What an ending:

Rick Brown finishes the season just like he started it, WITH A WIN! Rick qualified at the number 2 qualifying spot at the Indy Fall Classic and made it through 5 rounds with his 316ci SB-2 Patterson Power Plant. He ran an impressive 8.26 E.T. in the final where he beat a broken Brian Browell. Besides the win, Rick also reset the B/TA National Record.

Martel Wins at Memphis:

On a roll, Arnie Martel picks up his 3rd win of the season this past weekend at the O'Reilly Midsouth Nationals in Memphis. Arnie, driving his 317 ci SB-2 Patterson Power plant stomped his way through the field where he defeated Kevin self for the win with an outstanding 7.897 ET @ 147.02 MPH.


Allan Patterson makes his debut at Memphis:

After 24 years, Allan Patterson makes his way back to the race track, this time in the drivers seat. Driving his retro 1966 Chevy II, Allan qualified in the #4 Qualifying position running a 10.363 ET @ 124.50 MPH. Way to go Allan, you've still got it!!

David Rampy claims his 70th National Event win at the O'Reilly Fall Nationals. Qualifying in the number 3 spot with a 7.379 ET at 158.30 mph. David defeated a red lighting Scott Benham in the final. Congratulations go out to David Rampy and his sponsor Boo Weekley for his Ryder Cup Win on the American Team.


Congratulations to Todd Patterson for setting a new NHRA National record in Competition Eliminator at the Jeg's Sports Nationals. Todd was driving the Sharp Contracting 323 ci SB-2 Patterson Powered 2008 Chevy Cobalt running a 7.75 ET @ 176.44 MPH for a new D/A record.

A combination of Arnie’s driving skills and his Patterson Powered SB-2 316ci engine made their way to the final round at the Carolina Nationals at zMax Dragway. Entering the round with a CIC penalty, Arnie stayed out front of the competition the whole way down the track to capture his 2nd Competition Eliminator win of the season.

Rampy weathers storm to claim summit racing Nationals title!

David Rampy collected his 69th career NHRA National Event victory this past weekend in Norwalk, OH. David’s hot streak continued since his brief retirement earlier this year. Since his return, David’s Boo Weakley sponsored Patterson Powered A/EA Roadster has appeared in four of the last six final round events. His 57th Comp. Elim. Title came at the expense of the equally hot Patterson Performance Warehouse customer Craig Bourgeois B/ND in the final. David’s 7.34 @ 176 MPH charge was enough to hold off Bourgeois in a rematch of the final from Joliet 2 weeks ago. Great Job Guys!


Did you know that Patterson Racing Engines have been in the last 4 out of 5 Competition Eliminator National Event Finals? Two of those events being winners and the other two events were runner-ups. Brown is Truckin’ Along
Rick Brown scored his first career Competition Eliminator victory at The Summit Southern Nationals in Commerce, Ga. He battled his way through a ultra competitive Competition Eliminator field. In the final round he faced David Rampy, the winningest Competition Eliminator driver of all-time. Rick’s 316 C.I. SB-2 Patterson Racing Power Plant ran an impressive -.059 under the B/TA index, winning with an 8.339 ET @ 160.90 MPH. Congratulations Rick!

Rampy Loses by a Stroke
In his first race of the 2008 season, David Rampy drove his newly Boo Weakley Golf sponsored Patterson Powered bantam roadster to a final round appearance at The Summit Southern Nationals in Commerce, Ga. David’s 321 C.I. SB-2 A/EA qualified number 5 with a great 7.268 ET at 181 MPH. He was eliminated by another Patterson Racing customer, Rick Brown.

Patterson Thrashes Record in the Wheatfield
Todd Patterson qualified number 1 with his 316 C.I. SB-2 at the season opening Division 5 LODRS event at Great Bend Kansas. His -.0695 under the B/SR index pass was a new NHRA National Record. The new record is a 7.84 ET at 168 MPH.

Hickey sets the pace at SportsNationals:
Adam Hickey continued his blistering qualifying performance at the JEG’S Cajun SportsNationals this past weekend. His Patterson Powered 353 c.i. GM Splayed Valve engine helped him run a great 8.143 E.T. at 163.55 MPH giving him the number one qualifying spot at -.727 under the C/SMA competition index. Keep up the great work.

Sharp resets SS/CM record at JEG’S Cajun SportsNationals with 8.55 E.T. at 156.61 MPH in his 323 c.i. Patterson Powered Cavalier. Lee started from the number 3 qualifying position and marched his way through 6 rounds of eliminations to score event runner-up.

Hickey Makes his Mark:
For Hammond, LA based Adam Hickey, racing at the opening event in the NHRA Division 4 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at No Problem Raceway in his home state couldn’t get any better. Besides the fact that Adam was celebrating a birthday he set a New National Record with an outstanding .724 under pass on his final qualifying attempt. Running 8.14 E.T. at 163.67 MPH. Driving the families C/SMA Patterson Racing powered Chevy Cobalt the former Super category driver enjoyed one of the finest days in his still young Comp Eliminator career and picked up the low qualifier bonus from Hughes Performance. Congratulations!!

Sharp takes Super Stock Runner-Up
Lee Sharp also started from the number 1 qualifying position in his SS/CM ‘06 Cavalier running an outstanding 8.50 E.T. Lee made it to the event final in his first Super Stock Eliminator outing of his career.

Running two car is tough enough but to qualify both of them Number 1 in an opening event is almost unheard of. This just what Lee Sharp did with his Patterson Powered race cars. Sharp qualified his SS/CM ’06 Chevy Cavalier with a 8.50 ET putting him at No. 1 in qualifying. Sharp drove the ’06 Patterson Powered Cavailer through round after round reaching the final round and taking the Runner UP spot on the opening Div. 2 race. With the opening day bugs shaken off look for Sharp and Patterson Power to be in the winners circle in ’08.

Lee Sharps patience and commitment to drag racing excellence paid off in the Division 2 opening event during qualifying where all the hard work at Sharp racing and Patterson Engines came together to not only qualify number one but to also capture the National Record in B/EA in Sharp’s Chevy Cobalt. The drag racer from Maryville, TN clicked off an impressive 7.707 ET @ 174.85 MPH to claim the National Record in his ’07 Cobalt. By setting the mark early look for Sharp Racing and Patterson power to inch the bar a little higher in ’08 in their quest for excellence.

Congratulations to Patterson Racing Engine customer Phil Cocuzza for his B/EA best appearing car at the 48th annual Winter Nationals in Pomona, CA


Since it opened in 1989, Heartland Park Topeka has always been a favorite of the Patterson Racing Team. At his home track this weekend, Todd Patterson added another national event win to his illustrious Competition Eliminator record. Patterson qualified his brand new B Street Roadster in the number three spot with a run of 7.95 E.T.

In the first round of 32, Patterson defeated Michael Johnson and then beat Larry Larson in round two. In round three, Patterson's run of 7.994 was good enough for a margin of victory over Chase Williams of 0.0225 seconds.

Up against Patterson-Powered 3-time NHRA World Champion David Rampy in the semi-finals, Todd Patterson's reaction time of .014 seconds was on the right side of the light - compared to Rampy's .004 red light. That win set up a final round identical to last year's Heartland Park Comp Eliminator final. Patterson faced Lou Ficco in a B/AA Cavalier. Ficco could not catch him as Patterson's B/SR made it's quickest run of the event, 7.934 E.T., to take the victory again in 2007.



David Rampy scored his 63rd career national event title and 51st competition eliminator title using a 320 C.I. Patterson Racing SB-2 Chevrolet Power Plant. He ran a stout 7.29 E/T -0.620 under his A/EA index in qualifying. He used great reaction times to reach the final where he defeated a red lighting Sean Dodd.


Richard Freeman, driving his Sharp Contracting D/AA 07 Cobalt, claimed his second division win of the season at Great Bend, KS. Richard relied on a 323 C.I. SB-2 Patterson Racing Chevrolet Power Plant to reach the finals where he defeated Lucky Snyder. Great Job!




Joey Tanksley claimed his third national event title of his career by winning the rain delayed O'Reilys Spring Nationals Competition Eliminator title. His potent 347 C.I. 10 degree Patterson Racing Power Plant started from a #3 qualifying position and made his way through a tough field defeating Michael Johnson in the final with a great 6.95 E/T. Congratulations!




Joey Tanksley's Kent Trucking C/D powered by 347 C.I. Patterson Racing small block sang beautiful music at the recent Div. 4 LODRS event in Memphis. Joey led the field with an awesome 6.89 E/T going -.0678 under the index for the #1 qualifying spot and used great driving skills to reach the final where he defeated Michael Johnson's H/AA.




Richard Freeman's brand new '07 Sharp Contracting Cobalt scores at the first Division 4 LODRS event of the season. The first full pass on the car, Freeman smashed the E/AA National Record with a 7.66 E/T @ 175 mph, -.69 Under the Index! Richard relied on the 331 c.i. SB-2 Patterson Power Plant to carry him to the final round where he defeated a red lighting Scott Benham.




Bo Kenney won the 2006 Jeg’s Top Stock World Championship at the Torco Racing Fuels President’s Cup Nationals, defeating teammate Monty Bogan Jr. in a thrilling final round to culminate the Jeg’s Top Stock Championship Shootout.

#1 Qualifer 7 of 8 events, winning 4 of 8 races and in 7 of 8 Finals.

Patterson Racing has teamed up with Sharp Contracting from Maryville, TN to form one of the most phenomenal competition eliminator teams to date. In only the second NHRA national event of the season, Todd Patterson topped an ultra-tough field in his 2006 Sharp Contracting Chevy Cobalt. Todd, driving his Patterson powered Chevrolet SB-2 323 C.I. E/A Engine won with an amazing 7.941 E.T. All in all this Sharp Contracting car is already exceeding the teams expectations and are looking forward to another good outing at the upcoming O'Reillys Midwest Nationals.

Once again, the ever relentless David Rampy took home the gold at Bristol this past weekend. He accomplished his sixty-second career win along with his 50th Competition Eliminator win driving his 316 C.I. SB2 Patterson Racing Chevrolet Engine. Rampy's great final round 7.310 E.T. was -.640 under in his A/EA class index.

Patterson Racing engine customer Vinny Barone recently won compeition eliminator at the Atlanta Southern Nationals. Vinny's new SB2 315 C.I. A/SR ran a -.059 under 7.88 ET in route to his final round victory over a red lighting Sal Biondo.

Rampy Scores at Lucas Oil Nationals

David Rampy scored his second competition eliminator victory of the season and the 55th win of his career. Starting from the #3 qualifying position, David's familiar Patterson Powered 304c.i. splayed valve A/EA marched through a tough field of competitors to beat Jeff Lanes B/EA cutlass in the final. David's awesome .015 R/T coupled with a great -.55 under 7.44e.t. was enough to take the win.

Freeman Wins Cherokee County

In only his second race, Richard Freeman scored his first comp. eliminator victory of his career at the Division 4 event in Rusk Texas.  Driving the Freeman Racing F/AA Chevrolet Cavalier to a - 0.47under 8.31 et and an awesome .008 r/t in the finals to top Craig Bourgeois A/ND dragster.  Richard relies on a Patterson Racing 321 C.I. engine to Power him to Victory!

Ian Landies Jr's F/A Cavalier topped fellow Patterson Power customer David Rampy's A/EA in a ultra close competition eliminator final for his 2nd national event victory of the season.  This marks second time in the last 3 national events that Patterson Power has dominated the competition eliminator finals.

Landie's Claims First National Event Title
at O'Reilly's Thunder Valley Nationals

In an all classic Patterson Power final, Ian Landies Jr. drove his 295 C.I. F/A Cavalier to victory over Tony Stephenson's similar bodied 304 C.I. F/AA.  Ian Jr. posted an impressive -0.64 under 8.20 elapsed time in the final, compared to Tony's -0.60 under 8.18 elapsed time.  Both drivers rely on Patterson Racing engines to give them a competitive advantage to win event titles.

“Dad had been using Patterson engines for about ten years and I knew that they would give me a good piece. This engine makes a lot of power, I mean a lot of power and it’s a really fun car to drive.”

Scott Parks wheeled his Neil & Parks junior fuel dragster to a  dominating season opening victory at the K&N Filters/ Good Guys 45th annual March Meet in Bakersfield, California.  In route to the final, Scott recorded the quickest and fastest elapsed time in the history of the class, 7.003 et. @ 189.91 MPH.  Scott and Frank rely on Patterson Racing Performance Warehouse for top quality custom piston and engine block machining.

Rampy Takes Desert by Storm!

David Rampy wheeled his Patterson Power A/EA to victory at the Checker Schuck's Kragen Nationals in Phoenix, AZ.  Marching his way through 5 rounds of competition, meeting current Lucas Oil series champion Dean Carter in a rematch of last years final.  Rampy left 1st with an awesome .014 r/t. Carter couldn't wait and turned on the red light giving Rampy his first National Event Victory of 2004.

Patterson Racing To Build Engine For Winnebago Giveaway

Patterson Racing, Inc. is proud to announce that an agreement has been made with Winnebago Motorsports to produce a 565 c.i. BBC "Super Class Engine" for the Winnebago Motorsports Racer Appreciation Program.  All participants in the program will be eligible for the season long points competition with the engine being awarded to the racer that has garnered the most points at season's end.  The engine will be built and dyno tested by Patterson Racing Inc. using only the top quality components used in our record setting class engines.  The engine will be on display at future NHRA national events and awarded to the points champion at the Performance Racing Industry Tradeshow in early December.  Stay tuned for updates on this program as the season progresses.

Hardee Claims First Event win of Season
Michael Hardee out lasted the Maple Grove track power outage & the rest of the competition eliminator field to win the rain delayed Lucas Oil Nationals in Reading, PA.  Michael relies on a Patterson Racing 321 CI Power Plant in his D/SMA Pontiac Grand Am to take him to the winners circle.  During the course of eliminations Michael recorded an outstanding -.070 under his class index 8.59 ET.  Congratulations!

Freeman wins Jeg's All-Star Title

Robert Freeman drove the Freeman racing Cavalier to the Jeg's All Star Comp. Eliminator title last weekend in Joliet, IL. Not only did he win the event but was the #1 qualifier at -(.73) under the D/SMA index at 8.55 et. Freeman, the reigning Division 4 Comp champ, defeated Division 7's Ed Sigmon.   Freeman is powered by his Patterson Power D/SMA Chevy, which last weekend was driven to victory by partner Michael Park at the O'Reilly Midsouth Nationals, to a (-.47) 8.68 after Sigmon fouled in his C/Street Roadster.

Mike Park driving the Freeman Racing D/SMA cavalier qualified #1 with an awesome -.73 under the index and scored his first career title.  This was also Mikes first national event he competed in.  Mike uses a 321 c.i. At their first national even Debut., Robert Freeman drove their new D/SMA Cavalier to a Runner Up Finish in Comp. Eliminator at the Lucas Oil Nationals in Brainerd, MN.  This new Car is equipped with a 321 c.i. Patterson Racing Powerplant and has qualified #2 at the event.  Congratulations!

David Rampy keeps his ultra-hot streak alive with his 52nd career win in Seattle.  David's same reliable A/EA Bantam Roadster and his trusted Patterson Racing 304 c.i. Chevrolet engine chased down Jim Wartner's joint venture E/SM Camaro for his third national even win in a row and seventh of 2003.

David Rampy collects his 6th victory of the 2003 season with a win at the Mopar Parts Mile-High Nationals in Denver, CO.  David's Patterson Powered Chevy A/EA defeated  Mike DePalma's B/A Mopar Powered Neon in the final round. This brings his outstanding career total of 51 National Event Wins.  Great Job!

 


Rampy wins 50th!!!
David Rampy collected his 50th career Wally by Winning the Sears Craftsman Nationals.  This marks his 5th Comp. Elim. victory of the season & 40th overall.  David's outstanding driving skills & Patterson Power make for a winning combination!

Ian Landies Jr. added his name to this years list of #1 Qualifier using Patterson Power.  Ian led the field with an awesome -.065  under 8.18 et. in his E/A cavalier. He relies on a 295 C.I. Patterson racing Chevrolet Engine. This makes the 3rd national event in a row that Patterson Power sets the pace.  Santo Volpe led the field in Joliet & Columbus, & David Rampy has multiple #1 qualifying positions this season.

Defeating Al Weiss in the Comp final. Rampy, near lane, cut a .002 reaction time against Weiss' tardy leave, then cruised to the win, (-.39) 7.63 to (-.47) 8.50.

Rampy Wins Second Consecutive National Event
May 4, 2003:  David Rampy settled for nothing less than first all weekend in Atlanta at the 23rd annual Summit Racing Equipment Southern Nationals.  For the second event in a row, Rampy emerged victorious after starting things off as top qualifier.  David prevailed over Charlie Westcott, Jr. in the finals, running .563 under his 8.01 index.  The win in Atlanta was Comp Eliminator conquest number 39 for David.

Rampy wasn't the only Patterson Power customer enjoying the view at the top:  Michael Hardee and Ian Landies, Jr. qualified third and fifth in Comp Eliminator, respectively.  For those of you keeping score at home, that's three of the top five qualifiers that were showing off their Patterson Power...  Coincidence?  We don't think so.  Congratulations fellas, keep it up!

Patterson Power Takes Thunder Valley by Storm
April 27, 2003:  Four of the top ten Comp Eliminator qualifiers at the Third Annual Mac Tools Thunder Valley Nationals were proudly running with Patterson Power.  David Rampy and Santo Volpe were the #1 and #2 qualifiers, while Mike Farrell qualified seventh, and Michael Hardee qualified ninth.  Congratulations to all, and special congratulations to David Rampy who earned his 38th career Comp Eliminator victory over a red lighting Jerry Hemmingson in the finals.  David's Thunder Valley victory also helped to extend his lead in the Lucas Oil points standings.  Keep up the good work guys!

Rampy Hits Jackpot On The Strip
April 6, 2003:  With Patterson Power as an ace up his sleeve, David Rampy was who the smart money was on in the Comp eliminator at the fourth annual SummitRacing.com Nationals in Las Vegas.  After qualifying second, running .707 under his 8.17 index, Rampy prevailed over all who dared to try their luck against him during the five round eliminator.  In the final round, he took his competitor Dean Carter for all he had, running .725 under his index with a .032 reaction time.  Rampy is currently the points leader in the Lucas Oil National Standings.  Congratulations David!

Parks Sets New Record in Bakersfield
March 9, 2003:  Patterson Racing would like to recognize and congratulate Scott Parks, who won his second consecutive Junior Fuel title at the Goodguys Vintage Racing Association's K&N Filters March Meet at Famoso Raceway.  Patterson's custom pistons & machining services together with Patterson provided Total Seal rings proved to be a winning combination as Scott ran a record-setting 7.06 ET at 189.15 mph to defeat Dean Carter in the finals.
